Zoning Board Hearing – Catawissa Water Authority: PUBLIC NOTICE CATAWISSA TOWNSHIP ZONING HEARING BOARD The Catawissa Township Zoning Hearing Board will hold a public hearing at 6:00pm on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the Catawissa Township Municipal Building, 153 Old Reading Road, Catawissa, PA. 17820 to consider the following applications: Application of The Municipal Authority of the Borough of Catawissa for property located at 798 Creek Road, Catawissa Township, Parcel ID No. 09 05 01300 in the Medium Density Residential/Flood Hazard Zoning District. The applicant is requesting a variance pursuant to Article IX, Section 914 of the Township Zoning Ordinance from the requirements of Article V, Section 526 to allow construction of the proposed water treatment building within the front yard setback of 35 feet. The applicant is requesting a variance pursuant to Article IX, Section 914 of the Township Zoning Ordinance from the requirements of Article V, Section 544 to allow construction of the proposed water treatment building within the Flood Hazard District. The proposed building first floor elevation will be 7.22’ above the Base Flood Elevation. Please take notice that the hearings on the above-referenced applications will be conducted by the Zoning Hearing Board and its appointed Hearing Officer, Richard J. Shoch, Esquire. At the conclusion of the hearing, the Zoning Hearing Board may take action on the applications. Any interested party, resident or taxpayer is welcome to appear and attend. Catawissa Township Board of Supervisors will be holding a public meeting regarding Police coverage for the year 2025 on Tuesday, August 06, 2024, starting at 6:00pm at the Township Municipal Building, 153 Old Reading Road, Catawissa. Township residents are invited to attend to comment and/or ask questions about police services within the Township. All persons wishing to comment must be a resident of the Township, sign-in before the beginning of the meeting and limit their comments to two (2) minutes.
