Zoning Board Hearing – Catawissa Water Authority:   PUBLIC NOTICE CATAWISSA TOWNSHIP ZONING HEARING BOARD   The Catawissa Township Zoning Hearing Board will hold a public hearing at 6:00pm on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the Catawissa Township Municipal Building, 153 Old Reading Road, Catawissa, PA. 17820 to consider the following applications:   Application of The Municipal Authority of the Borough of Catawissa for property located at 798 Creek Road, Catawissa Township, Parcel ID No. 09 05 01300 in the Medium Density Residential/Flood Hazard Zoning District. The applicant is requesting a variance pursuant to Article IX, Section 914 of the Township Zoning Ordinance from the requirements of Article V, Section 526 to allow construction of the proposed water treatment building within the front yard setback of 35 feet. The applicant is requesting a variance pursuant to Article IX, Section 914 of the Township Zoning Ordinance from the requirements of Article V, Section 544 to allow construction of the proposed water treatment building within the Flood Hazard District. The proposed building first floor elevation will be 7.22’ above the Base Flood Elevation.   Please take notice that the hearings on the above-referenced applications will be conducted by the Zoning Hearing Board and its appointed Hearing Officer, Richard J. Shoch, Esquire.  At the conclusion of the hearing, the Zoning Hearing Board may take action on the applications.  Any interested party, resident or taxpayer is welcome to appear and attend.  Copies of the applications are available for inspection at the Township Office, 153 Old Reading Road, by calling the Township Secretary for an appointment.

Public Hearing – Floodplain Ordinance

NOTICE OF CATAWISSA TOWNSHIP’S PROPOSED FLOODPLAIN ORDINANCE

Notice is hereby given by the Board of Supervisors of Catawissa Township of the intention to act upon the following proposed ordinance:

FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT ORDINANCES REQUIRING ALL PERSONS, PARTNERSHIPS, BUSINESSES, AND CORPORATIONS TO OBTAIN A PERMIT FOR ANY CONSTRUCTION OR DEVELOPMENT; PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF SUCH PERMITS; SETTING FORTH CERTAIN MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT WITHIN AREAS OF THE Catawissa tOWNSHIP WHICH ARE SUBJECT TO FLOODING; AND ESTABLISHING PENALTIES FOR ANY PERSONS WHO FAIL, OR REFUSE TO COMPLY WITH, THE REQUIREMENTS OR PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE.

A hearing will be held for the proposed Ordinance by the Catawissa Township Supervisors on April 9, 2024 at the Catawissa Township Building located at 153 Old Reading Road, Catawissa, PA. at 11:30 am. The Board of Supervisors will consider the Ordinance for adoption at a meeting to be held at the Catawissa Township Building located at 153 Old Reading Road, Catawissa, PA. on April 9, 2024 at 12:00 pm.
